Why focus on the doubt? Why not emphasize the faith. The apostle honored today is always referred to as the "Doubting Thomas." He is never acclaimed as the "Believing Apostle." Of course he initially doubted the Risen Lord. But when his doubts were all dispelled, he believed and exclaimed, "My Lord and my God." Do we focus on the darkness or on the star? Do we dwell on the trials or on the blessings? Yes, Thomas doubted. But he subsequently believed. |
